KALMAR Automotive unveil NEW 7-97 E-Volt

KALMAR Automotive, renowned for its bespoke sports cars, has entered an electrifying new era with the debut of its first EV conversion. The KALMAR 7-97 E-Volt offers faster acceleration, more power, and improved aerodynamics without any weight gain compared to its original combustion counterpart. This groundbreaking model is a testament to KALMAR Automotive’s commitment to sustainable technologies, embodying their ‘Evergreen’ philosophy.

A Modern Marvel

Following the ethos of the existing 7-97 range, the E-Volt is based on the 964 generation 911 and is powered by a high-performance electric drivetrain upcycled from the Tesla Model S. Producing 450bhp and 660Nm of torque, the 7-97 E-Volt achieves a 0-62 mph time of under four seconds and boasts a range of over 200 miles. With Eco and Sport modes, drivers can tailor their experience to their preferences and mood.

Sustainable Luxury

KALMAR’s ‘Evergreen’ philosophy drives the 7-97 E-Volt, focusing on sustainability and reuse. Many key parts from the donor vehicle are repurposed, including recast aluminum and reformed glass. The innovative plant fiber bodywork for the exterior and interior panels ensures that the E-Volt maintains the original 964 Turbo’s kerb weight, while also offering a significant reduction in CO2 emissions compared to traditional carbon fiber.

Advanced Aerodynamics

The 7-97 E-Volt introduces KALMAR’s latest exterior design language, the “R-intake,” inspired by the 1967 Porsche 911-R. This design enhances aerodynamics through extensive CFD analysis and improved cooling via a reprofiled front air intake. The use of flax fiber panels further reduces CO2 emissions by up to 78% compared to carbon fiber.

Cutting-Edge Technology

Fitted with a refurbished Tesla Model S drivetrain, the 7-97 E-Volt delivers more than 450bhp and 660Nm of torque. The electric motor is positioned in the rear, counterbalanced by the primary battery at the front axle, maintaining the classic 911 weight distribution. The advanced battery management system, capable of fast charging, ensures the vehicle is always ready for the road.

Luxurious Interior

The 7-97 E-Volt’s interior combines timeless style with modern comfort. The cabin features semi-automatic electric air conditioning, an Apple CarPlay Bluetooth-enabled audio system, and environmentally conscious, lightweight ElmoSoft grain leather. Additional features like rain-sensing wipers and LED headlights enhance everyday usability.

Future-Proofed Design

The conversion remains entirely reversible, allowing customers to return the car to traditional combustion power if desired. “The idea of creating an EV version came from our customers,” says Jan Kalmar, founder of KALMAR Automotive. “We aimed to maximize its green credentials, using technologies like flax fibers and repurposing parts from the donor vehicle.”

Experience the Future

Pricing for the 7-97 E-Volt conversion starts at €450,000 Euro. For more information, visit KALMAR Automotive.
