Fisker Ronin – “World’s Most Sustainable $385,000 Supercar”

Fisker Inc. (NYSE: FSR) disclosed further particulars regarding its Fisker Rōnin Super GT, an all-electric convertible, showcased during the company’s inaugural Product Vision Day on Aug. 3, 2023. Designed with a commitment to crafting the world’s most emotive and eco-conscious electric vehicles, Fisker Chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker emphasized that the Rōnin caters to driving enthusiasts who also value automotive aesthetics and sustainability. “Our aim was to reimagine a timeless grand touring car for the modern era, engineered to traverse from Los Angeles to Napa Valley on a solitary charge or navigate the autobahn at elevated speeds, all while prioritizing battery capacity,” Fisker stated.

Reservations for the Rōnin, named as a tribute to the iconic John Frankenheimer movie featuring exhilarating car chase sequences, commenced on Aug. 3, with early patrons placing a $2,000 deposit for the initial reservation and a fully refundable $1,000 for the second. Priced at $385,000, the vehicle is set for delivery in the latter half of 2025, with only 999 units planned for production.

Fisker’s vision for the Rōnin aims to inject exceptional versatility into the upper echelons of the market, a realm largely dominated by high-profile performance SUVs. The Rōnin, designed to comfortably accommodate five passengers, leverages the configuration of an electric vehicle to provide remarkable cargo capacity, a rare attribute in the realm of supercars. Projected to achieve a 0-60mph acceleration in around two seconds and a top speed of 170mph (275km/h), the Rōnin intends to rival or surpass current supercar offerings, all while delivering impressive range. The focus will be centered on enhancing driving pleasure, although optional autonomous technologies will be available as required.

The Rōnin will feature rear butterfly doors for easy rear-seat access, with a single door handle for the front doors, which open electronically through handle swiping or smartphone activation; the handle extends when the rear doors are ready for operation. Remote smartphone control will facilitate door access, and the retractable carbon-fiber hardtop can also be smartphone-triggered, retracting into the trunk to provide luggage space, further augmented by the front trunk.

Employing an exclusive aluminum space frame with integrated battery cells, the Rōnin aims for a 600-mile range target. Carbon-fiber 23-inch wheels contribute to the lightweight approach. Inside, the interior aims to set a new benchmark for sustainable luxury, incorporating innovative recycled and sustainable materials to position the Rōnin as a pinnacle of eco-conscious supercars. Equipped with a 17.1-inch high-resolution screen and driver-oriented instrument cluster, the Rōnin interior is poised for technological excellence.
